About Us
Who are we?
A couple of years ago, disillusioned with the day to day grind of mainstream life, we decided to take a leap of faith and create a new direction for ourselves.
It was relatively easy to choose our focus of cool unique clothing as, when we had been looking for it for ourselves and our grandsons, we discovered it was nearly impossible to source locally.
We began searching the world for beautiful, funky and affordable treasures that others, like us, would be delighted to find.
So Colour My Tribe was born. A tiny wee collection two years ago and now a continually growing selection of clothing, accessories and other wonderful products to delight seekers of sensory thrills!
Nepal and India are our main go-to places for our stock. We deal with people who promote and support families and fair trade practices, and most of our products are hand made using natural fibres. We also have been extending our creative skills and producing bespoke driftwood products and other handmade temptations.
Our Products
Our products are mostly sourced from family run businesses and co-operatives and from Fair Trade Companies which do not encourage child labour.
We have fabulous contacts in Nepal which means that if there is a product that you would like but what is in stock is either the wrong colour or size or pattern etc. quite often our contacts can successfully find the product for you or even have it made.
Now that's service!
With the products mostly being hand made it can be a challenge to get the sizing consistent.
Sometimes a 'medium' sized item of clothing is larger than the 'large' version so apologies in advance if one of these gets by us unnoticed!
All part of the fun but if there is anything you need to know or would like to double check anything, feel free to contact us - every product page has an enquiry form.
Meet Twiggy and Manly
Twiggy has been doing most of our modelling - both male and female clothing items which has been okay as much of our clothing is unisex.
She is quite small though, so sometimes gets overwhelmed when modelling the larger sizes and was especially struggling to fit all the guys clothes to their right proportions.
Something clearly had to be done!
Enter Manly... with shoulders wide enough to do the job.
Don't they look a bit cute? Life in plastic - it's fantastic!!
